The birds singing

I can hear the birds singing
Calling in the evening
and all through the night
Can you hear them too
Early in the morning
They sing for me and you
Some sing to signal
Letting the others know
It is the dawn of a new day
And some they sing
because they can
And others sing to warn others
Of harm that may come their way
I love all the birds
Each and every one
And all of their songs
With both eyes closed
I can fly as they do
Off to distant lands
and far away places
So if you like
close your eyes too
We can fly off together
Like birds of a feather
