Who's a good boy?

What have we become?
Not only our generation
but mankind in general...or the
superior species.
I saw a friend the other day and stopped to say hello.
He told me he was on his way to visit his Mother. He placed her in an old age home, some time ago for reason of convenience. When I first spotted him he was picking up after his dog and putting the bag of shit into his pocket. Folks there is no way I would put a bag of shit in my pocket! Not even if it were my own! Let alone dogshit!?! Anyways, he was picking up after his dog and I stopped to say hey, How's it going,  how's your Mother?
Not bad, she's fine, but my poor old Brutus here, he's got a sore,  you know, don'tcha boy...who's a good boy, and it hurts when he goes, but I got this cream I put on and he's seems to be getting a whole lot better.
I laughed, Well that's good, glad to hear, I said, Give my love and best wishes to your Mom... and went on my way.
Huh!? Like WTF you put your Mother in a home but are willing to rub cream on your dog's ass every time he shits... God forbid your Mother should need you!
I don't know why people are the way they are anymore and I'm not sure I have the time to figure them out anymore either!
Sometimes I just don't understand people at all.
But holy shit folks wake the hell up I hope you never need someone like your
Mother or Father, Sister or Brother, Grandmother or Grandfather to talk to,
to count on, someone to help you when you are unable to help yourself.
Don't take me wrong I love animals too but holy shit, I love my family members more.
My dog never changed my diaper or fed me but my Mother did, my Grandmother did. I can have a sick pet put down and be very upset as I have done in the past. But when it comes to a Grandmother, Grandfather,
Mother, Father, Sister, Brother come on folks that's a whole world of different feelings.
I would use all my abilities to help in whatever way I could to help a family member or friend and even a stranger for that matter. I am not taking away from a pet relationship but the loss of a family member or close friend is truly
the ultimate pain.
They say that killers, especially the cold or serial killer type, begin by practicing, torturing and killing animals. If this is true what do people who treat animals or pets better than there own flesh and blood become?

Pennies for Peace

each penny comes with a thought
each penny is not a lot
a penny is not wealth
a penny is often left behind, on the shelf
to us that penny means not a lot
but a penny is more than what some got
think of each penny
put a thought into each penny
so each penny comes with a thought
make sure to leave them on the shelf
give reminder to yourself
put all those pennies in one spot
think of what, with all those pennies, can be bought
pennies mean a lot
when you haven't any
not one penny
each penny comes with a thought
let that thought be
what can be bought
with all the pennies for peace!

November

Moving right along...Christmas is already on everyone's mind...Walmart's mind that's for sure...LOL
Went there on Sunday Novemeber 1st and trhey already had all the pumpkins replaced with reindeer, all the monsters with Sanat and his elves, the haunted house with the manger...it's so damn funny how bloody capitalistic we have become! It is this time of year that get the most emotional about those who have so much less and are unfortunate due to circumstances beyond their control. We all know people who try hard and never seem to catch a break or who work hard and end up with nothing. It's a sad time of year as much as it is joyfull. This is the time of year that I actually wrote a poem I posted earlier...and I think it fits right in here and besides it is worth a second read! LOL

Spare change

The colour has faded
The trees stand naked
Snow wisps through the air
People with no shoes walk the streets
Sorrow and pain everywhere

Winter is upon us again
The season of joy is near
The shoppers are shopping
So gleeful and happy, filled with Christmas cheer

Discouraged and dismal
They wander the street
To them a gift is simple
Some warmth and a bite to eat

A subway grid or stairwell
Is often what they call home
The time they need some company
Is the time they spend alone

Give what you can
Give generously
The streets are unforgiving
For them, for you and for me.
