Stuck in the water
Stuck between the waves
Close to shore
But slipping away

Far away from the shore

I can't see the shore
Drifting out on the water
To where I've never been before
Drifting slowly
Drifting further and further
Drifting I hoped to another shore
The shimmering last light
Of a dying sunset
Glistening on the cold
clear water
Gave me hope as I drifted
into the night
The minutes of darkness
passed by like hours
Drifting like a lost soul
at night
Then through my eyes hardly open
as I glance the right
I see an elliptical sunrise
bringing warmth
ending the night
I have drifted
to I don't know where
I can't see the shore
anywhere anymore

Without direction
Without a care
I was unaware
Unprepared
