What wonderful Christmas it has been...the gift exchange and jolly times around the fireplace dvd, great music. And for me personally it was a musical Christmas! Jakob surprised me with a pocket full of goodies, copy of Tesseraft's new cd, copy of Paul Cusick's new cd, AC/DC Fly on the wall & AC/DC For those about to rock. It was awesome to listen them all! Then Rachel gave me her annual surprise cd, Big Shiny Tunes #14. A very big improvement over the past 3 years, great line up and good songs! Then the kids blew me away by giving me a new camera! I have needed and wanted one for so long now, thanks kids! I think that Christmas this year was reasonable and sensible. You know, I'm sure we've all had those years when you sit there and go holy shit, gift after gift after gift to the point that there's really too much to appreciate all at once. Decadence at it's peak, so much thoughtless waste. Gifts are so much nicer when they can be enjoyed and appreciated from the moment they are received or opened. I guess that's why I love music or things to do with music so much, the immediate gratification to the giver and enjoyment to the receiver. You can listen to the music media when you receive it or play the instrument. But all this gift giving and receiving was followed by...
Three days of snack food, finger food, dips, dressings and cookies. Whew, thank goodness that's over. It was all delicious and I enjoyed it all but deep down I hear my stomach craving a bowl of soup or mashed potatoes and gravy, something wholesome and hearty. To all the people whose party presentations we tasted I say thank you very much. So much time and effort is put into making their houses festive and so much pride is put into the platter after platter of delicious food that came into the room every few minutes only to be replaced by another a few minutes later.
December 23 beltsize = 36"
December 25 beltsize = 38"
December 29 beltsize = what belt? I had to take the elastic out of my new XL
camouflage track pants!
I have the rest of today and 2 more days to rest up before we do it all over again at New Years...LOL
Hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas and have a very happy and prosperous New Year!
