IF I WAS

I’m thinking hard
MY THOUGHTS ARE DEEP
WHICH WILL GO
WHICH I WILL KEEP
THE THINGS I DO
THE THINGS I DON’T
I NEVER REST
I NEVER SLEEP
THE PAIN IT COMES
THE PAIN IT GOES
PAIN IS LIKE A RIVER
WHEN IT FLOWS
IT’S CURRENTS RUNNING DEEP
THE DAY WITH NIGHT IS BLENDED
THE RIVER NEVER SLEEPS
LIKE ACID RAIN FROM A FORMER LIFE
SILENTLY IT SEEPS
GIVE ME STRENGTH
GIVE ME POWER
AND HONOUR
HELP ME LAST JUST ONE MORE HOUR
AND ONCE THAT HOUR DOES PASS
ONCE AGAIN FILL THE HOURGLASS
I’M THINKING HARD
MY THOUGHTS ARE DEEP
THOSE ARE GONE
AND THESE I’LL KEEP
SOME THING’S I’VE DONE
AND SOME NOT YET
PILING UP
WITHOUT REGRET
IF I WAS YOUR FATHER I’D
IF I WAS YOUR FATHER I’D
IF I WAS YOUR FATHER I’D
IF I WAS YOUR FATHER I’D
IF I WAS MY FATHER I WOULD KILL ME!
