Christmas everywhere

I close my eyes and open them quickly
Then without hardly trying as though
By Magic
I see Christmas through children's eyes
Just how I used to back on that day
Voices of excitement fill the air
Sounds of Christmas everywhere
The magic and mystery
Of Christmas Eve
Begins to unfold
But the secrets are sacred
Though spoken they are never told
Sleeping the night before
Just like the year before
Waiting for Old St.Nick
Hoping he'll find me asleep
As down the chimney he came
The jolly old man, true to his name

I see Christmas through children's eyes
Just how I used to back on that day
Voices of excitement fill the air
Sounds of Christmas everywhere
I see Christmas cards hanging up
Tinsel and icicles
Hung up with so much care
Covered in Angel hair
The Christmas Tree all decorated
The smell of pine in the air
Christmas shows on the TV
With Elvis and Fred Astaire
Christmas and happiness everywhere
I remember Christmas's past
I'd be good all of the year
Just for knowing and fear
That Santa sees all
and he wants it made clear
It not just at Christmas
It's all of the year
That we have to be good
As though it were Christmas
Each and every day

I see Christmas through children's eyes
Just how I used to back on that day
Voices of excitement fill the air
Sounds of Christmas everywhere
The clock strikes twelve
There's snow on the ground
The shadows hang long
As the stockings that hang
I try to lie still
I don't make a sound
When I hear the sound
of a hoof on the roof
So I close my eyes and open them quickly
Then without hardly trying as though
By Magic
I see Christmas through children's eyes
Just how I used to back on that day
Voices of excitement fill the air
Sounds of Christmas everywhere
